Family Communication.
It is very important to me to create a sense of family within our classroom. Every Monday you will receive a weekly letter telling you: what is happening in the classroom that week, skills that your student will be learning, as well as any upcoming events or activities that will be happening. Parent volunteers are welcome and needed! In other words, I NEED YOUR HELP! There is plenty of us to share with you! If you are interested in volunteering in the classroom please fill out the form below, letting me know what you may be interested in helping with and what day you are available. We will have parent volunteers Monday-Thursday from 8am-930am. The jobs will vary but include things like grading, copying, filing, and student store(once a month). You can always find more updates about what is happening in the classroom on our classroom blog (click on Our Weekly Update).
Birthdays!
There are a few allergies in our classroom so that I request that if you do want to bring cookies or mini cupcakes in to share with the class for your child's birthday that you also include one item that is gluten free so that all of our students can be included in the celebration. I also highly encourage that you bring fruit instead of sugar treats but I also understand that cookies or mini cupcakes tend to be more fun.
If you are going to pass out invitations at school, please invite the whole class. If you would prefer to keep the party small, I request that you don't pass out invitations at school. (Children can be sensitive).

Weekly Spelling Words.
We will be teaching 8 words at a time and expecting that your students are able to master all 8 words before they move on to the next weeks list. The weekly lists with some practice sheets will be sent home in the Monday folder, if you prefer, you can access the lists here.
